Hi Tom,

This is the first I've heard of AI used in this way. It's a fascinating subject and links two of my interests (photography and computing) so I'll certainly look more into whay this has to offer.

Please keep the interesting content coming :-)

Thanks, Dave.

I'm finding the same excitement that I had when I first loaded Photoshop and played with Curves, and Burn/Dodge tools. The use of text-to-image to make pictures of pandas roller skating in Fifth Avenue etc. is like the early playing around with Photoshop.

I must say that I still love Photoshop, but am definitely going to try some of this.

Hi Gail

Thanks for that comment. Me too (well, maybe not Photoshop anymore, but that's another story). I came across Photoshop when it was at version 2.5, when it first acquired Layers. Then, the big debate was how it was going to destroy the integrity of the image. Photographers made a virtue of refusing to use it. Some went wild with it to create composites that only a couple of years before needed a roomful of computing and a suitcase of money. The wild creations have calmed down, the hot debate has matured ... and Photoshop (standing for image manipulation in general) is an inextricable part of life. Will text-to-image AI be the next Photoshop?

AI is in fact already inextricably part of today's photographic life. It's just that many don't realise how much. Food for another post, I think.
